The initial inspiration for BizeeBee came from me doing work trade for local yoga studios. Some of the problems I experienced first hand were scheduling instructors and setting up a class. Each class required having to take attendance quickly, explaining the benefits of yoga to a new customer, and being able to process a payment. Being the engineer that I am I thought there must be solutions out there to help, so I started to research the products in the space, and came across a lot of software solutions focused on scheduling and booking. I then proceeded to personally talk to every single studio owner within a 50-100 mile radius that was willing to meet with me. The overwhelming majority said that while scheduling was a problem, it wasn’t the biggest, especially for businesses that had a large volume of customers (50+ customers daily). Also most software solutions solved the problem of scheduling but only solved the problem of scheduling and nothing else. Owners didn’t want to have to deal with 5-10 different software solutions to run their business, not to mention the time it would take to setup each one and learn the system. Here’s what they really needed help with:
They wanted to put a system in place that would help them solve these problems in a manner that was cost effective and simple! Hence the mission for BizeeBee has been to deliver the value of simplicity and growth, not a singular focus such as scheduling. In fact we don’t have a scheduling component. We do know this is important and will eventually build it. However, we wanted to build what would directly solve the two biggest problems people were experiencing.
How BizeeBee helps with Cashflow
Every membership package that is purchased is recorded in BizeeBee for a customer. The act of recording builds up transaction data. BizeeBee uses that transaction data to show owner’s how much money they’re making every month, and the breakdown across packages.
How BizeeBee helps with new Customers
As customers come in owners take attendance against their membership package. The act of taking attendance once again builds up data, attendance data. BizeeBee shows owners how many customers are coming, the classes their coming to, and when they are about to expire.
The Bridge
Since each membership package is tied to a customer, owners know exactly who bought what, for how much, and the act of taking attendance lets them know when their membership is about to expire. Owners know from a high level the heath of their business: how much money they’re making and how many customers they have that are active and not expired. Knowing the health of their business lets them make educated decisions. They can increase sales by offering customers a reward or discount based on previous purchases, and reach out to customers to renew before their membership is about to expire.
We hope the bridge that we’re building helps your small business grow!
